Surgery?
“Surgery is always second best. If you can do something else, it's better.”
I'm pretty sure John Kirkland had it exactly right when he said that.
Unfortunately, though, surgery is the only option for some of us. And by "us" I mean that special group of people with malocclusions. A malocclusion is a condition when a person's jaw doesn't sit quite right, for one reason or another.
I myself have a Class III malocclusion--an underbite-- and have elected to have double jaw surgery to fix it.
I've really learned a lot about my surgery through reading other patients' blogs, but there aren't many from the past few years. I hope a more recent blog can help people as well as the links to my two personal favorites from Graham and Stephanie.
